Vascular Surgery

    • Vascular surgery covers a range of surgical procedures undertaken on arteries veins and the lymphatic system. The most important part is to reconstruct, unblock or bypass arteries that are blocked by atherosclerosis.

    • These precision procedures, restore blood flow to organs of the body helping to reduce sudden death, preventing strokes, restoring movement and reducing the risk of amputation.

    • A further important role is to manage aortic aneurysms, which, when these rupture, can rapidly lead to death.

    • Advances in techniques and technology over the last three decades have meant it is possible to carry out a greater number of these limb, organ and life-saving procedures, even on more complex patients.

  • Varicose and thread veins - endovenous ablation,  sclerotherapy

  • Through a Multi-Disciplinary Team approach with our Radiologists and Vascular Laboratory the correct investigations are undertaken in a timely fashion.

    We offer:

Doppler ultrasound: this allows us to see your blood flow within arteries and veins in real time.

CT angiogram: we take x-ray images from several different angles to build a 3D picture of what is happening inside your body

MR angiogram: this allows us to create detailed images especially including the soft tissues

    Nuclear Medicine:

    • PET

    • Lymphocyntogram

Formal angiogram or venogram: If there is doubt from the non-invasive imaging techniques this allows us to see inside your blood vessels definitively with the additional ability to replicate movements that compress vessels.

IVUS or intravascular ultrasound: This allows us to see inside your blood vessels more precisely during the time of performing either an angiogram or venogram.
